A credit-card statement is a liability going up and down, not an asset balance. Purchases increase what is owed, payments and credits reduce it. Files that ignore that convention import with every sign backwards, and a year of card activity reconciles to nothing. The converter signs payments negative and purchases positive and verifies the set against the statement's Previous and New Balances before export.
The QuickBooks export is the three-column CSV QuickBooks Online imports — Date, Description, Amount — with the card convention applied. Import it into the credit-card account in QuickBooks, not a bank account, so the balances behave like a card balance.
Card statements print a transaction date and a posting date. The converter keeps the transaction date, which is the date your books should carry; the posting date matters only to the card issuer's interest calculation.
