Turn statement PDFs into a Xero-ready CSV (Date, Amount, Payee, Description) for Xero's statement import — reconciled first.
Xero imports bank statements from a CSV file through the bank account's Import a Statement screen. The expected columns are Date, Amount, Payee and Description, with money out as negative amounts. The converter's Xero export maps statement transactions into exactly that layout.
Xero will import whatever it is given; a missing or duplicated transaction only surfaces at reconciliation time. The converter verifies the extraction against the statement's own balances first and flags any mismatch.

The export fills Xero's Payee and Description columns from the statement's transaction description, so the import matches what Xero expects without manual editing.
Where the statement prints opening and closing (or running) balances, the converter adds up the extracted transactions and compares the result with the statement itself. If the numbers do not tie, the conversion is flagged and the mismatched rows are marked — a failed check is never shown as a success.
