Catch-up bookkeeping usually stalls at data entry: months of statements, each needing to become rows in the accounting system before any categorizing can start. Batch conversion removes that bottleneck — the statements become files first, and judgment work (categorizing, matching) happens in QuickBooks or Xero where it belongs.
Convert month by month, confirm each statement reconciles, import oldest first, and reconcile each month in the accounting software before importing the next. The converter's per-statement reconciliation result tells you a month is safe to import.

Where the statement prints opening and closing (or running) balances, the converter adds up the extracted transactions and compares the result with the statement itself. If the numbers do not tie, the conversion is flagged and the mismatched rows are marked — a failed check is never shown as a success.
