RCBC statements to CSV: what you get

A CSV is the safest hand-off format there is, and this one carries the reconciled RCBC transactions in the same normalized columns used for every bank — so files from different banks and different months stack without reformatting.

The main use is long-term archiving in a format that will still open in twenty years. Every conversion is checked against the statement itself: where the statement prints opening and closing (or running) balances, the extracted transactions must add up to them, or the conversion is flagged and the mismatched rows are marked. A statement whose layout the reader cannot parse is reported honestly — never passed off as converted.

Every RCBC conversion is audited by the document it came from. The extracted transactions are totalled against the printed opening and closing balances and checked row by row against the running balance column where one is printed. A conversion only reports as reconciled when both tests agree to the cent — and when they do, the figures have been proven against the bank's own document, not merely read from it.

A RCBC statement's layout decides how differences behave. In a chronological layout with a running balance, a single dropped row shifts every later balance, which makes it easy to spot. In a sectioned layout — deposits, then withdrawals, then fees — compare section totals first. Knowing which layout you hold tells you where to look before the marked rows even load.

In Philippines, bookkeepers commonly work in QuickBooks, Xero and JuanTax; the Excel and CSV exports from this converter are the files those tools import, and the QuickBooks export is laid out for direct import where the tool accepts it.

Keeping evidence with the conversion

File three things together for every {bank} month: the statement PDF, the converted file, and the reconciliation outcome. Anyone reviewing the work later — a partner, an auditor, a tax adviser — can re-perform the month from that trio without asking you anything.

Before you use the file

If your importer asks about delimiters and encoding, the answers are comma and UTF-8. Descriptions containing commas are quoted in the file, so a standards-compliant importer reads them as one field — if yours splits them, it is not reading the quoting, and its settings need adjusting.

How to download a statement PDF from RCBC

  1. Get the statement from RCBC itself. Use the bank's website or mobile app and sign in with your usual credentials.
  2. Open the account and find Statements or Documents. Statements usually live under the account menu, labelled Statements, Documents, or eStatements, depending on the bank.
  3. Set the period you are converting. Download each period as its own file. The reconciliation check proves one statement at a time, which is what makes a long catch-up provable.
  4. Download or print to PDF. A downloaded PDF carries the text layer the converter reads. If the portal only offers a print view, print to PDF instead of taking a picture.
  5. Run the conversion here. Upload the PDF above and check the reconciliation result before you download the converted file.

These are the general steps most banks follow for statement downloads; exact menu labels vary by bank and change over time.

Tip: if the bank offers both a statement PDF and a transaction-list PDF, take the statement — it is the one carrying the balances the reconciliation check needs.

Questions and answers

How do I convert a RCBC statement to CSV?

Download the statement PDF from RCBC online banking, upload it to the converter on this page, and download the a CSV file. The transactions are extracted, put into the same standard columns used for every bank, and checked against the statement's balances first.

What date and number formats do RCBC statements use?

Expect the order printed on the statement itself dates and amounts with the grouping printed on the statement itself on a RCBC statement. The reader is locale-aware, so those conventions are handled rather than misread, and the output columns come out in the standard layout regardless.

What does the reconciliation check do?

Where the statement prints opening and closing (or running) balances, the converter adds up the extracted transactions and compares the result with the statement itself. If the numbers do not tie, the conversion is flagged and the mismatched rows are marked — a failed check is never shown as a success.

Are amounts converted into another currency?

No. The converter changes layout, not currency: figures stay in ₱ exactly as RCBC printed them.

Can I convert statements for several RCBC accounts?

Yes — convert each account's statements separately so each one reconciles against its own balances, then combine the exports in your software if you need a single view.

What if RCBC only offers paper statements?

Scan the statement as flat and straight as you can and upload the scan. OCR reads it, and the reconciliation check verifies the read against the printed balances; rows it cannot verify are flagged for a manual look.

How far back can I get RCBC statements?

That depends on the bank's portal — most keep at least a year of PDFs online, and older periods can usually be requested. However far back you go, download each period as its own PDF.

Is the converted file ready to import into my accounting software?

The QuickBooks and Xero exports are laid out in the column order those tools import. The plain CSV and Excel exports suit everything else, including spreadsheet review before import.

Are my statement files kept?

No. Uploaded files and generated exports are stored only briefly to complete the download and are automatically deleted within 15 minutes.
